School Outreach Officer

We are looking for two School Outreach Officers to coordinate workshops across the country. The role comes with significant responsibility, and the officers will constitute our School Outreach team, reporting directly to the charity President. Successful candidates will have a large amount of agency: in coordinating and designing our workshops, you will have a tangible impact on the lives of hundreds of disadvantaged children across the country whilst gaining valuable experience in the education sector working at an EdTech charity. UniReach is a growing and flexible organisation, so officers will also have the opportunity to extend their impact across the charity in a range of areas, if they wish, such as in producing video or print-out resources, or managing social media campaigns.

Job description
School Outreach Officers will be expected to:
  • Reach out to existing & potential partner schools (we define ‘disadvantaged’ as schools with low acceptance rates to Oxford and Cambridge, in postcodes with low progression to university generally)
  • Identify the needs of these schools and convince them to host a digital UniReach workshop in September/October
  • Design school-specific workshops to help sixth-form students succeed in the admissions process, using our in-house past experience and volunteer base
  • Work with the senior leadership team to execute school-specific workshops

Experience, skills, and attributes
Essential candidate criteria:
  • Proactive, with a track record of showing initiative and a strong work ethic
  • Experience communicating complex ideas
  • Strong problem solving skills
  • A passion for helping others
No professional or charity experience required.

UniReach is entirely volunteer-run, with a small team working on a part-time basis. Similarly, successful candidates will not be expected to volunteer more than 5-10 hours a week.

Applications close on Friday August 6th (midnight), with interviews for shortlisted candidates held in the week commencing August 9th, over Zoom.

Start date: flexible

Applicants should apply via this Google form - APPLICATIONS FOR THIS POSITION HAVE NOW CLOSED.

We guarantee to provide a paragraph of feedback to every applicant.
